Organise Dashboard According to your focus

Your Delivery Metrics Dashboard is a good subject for change from time to time. We recommend keeping 3-4 most interesting metrics at the top in the first section depending on your focus.

For example, you are in such a phase of the project when your focus is ability to execute, which consists of components like:

  • Being able to do a lot (Velocity)

  • Being able to do what was committed (Velocity: Committed/Completed & Sprint Plan Change)

  • Being able to do a lot in the future sprint (Backlog Health)

  • But at the same time control the quality (Bug Growth & Defect Containment), so that the above metrics don’t get good at the cost of quality

In this situation you may create a Section called “Summary” and place those metrics there along with an annotation that comments the reasons and explanations why these metrics behave this way today:

Priorities of your focus may change over time, so your main section may have different metrics alongside the main annotation. For example:
