How to Browse in TelescopeAI

This section describes how to browse in TelescopeAI. You can use three features to reach any entity on the platform, as follows:

Use Global Search

The Global Search allows you to search for the required units by unit's name.

To browse using the Global Search:

• On the Health menu bar, click Search. The search dialog box opens.

• Use the hot key Ctrl+Alt+H for opening search popover.

• Type in a few symbols of the required unit. The system prompts all matching variants.

• On the prompted list, select a required unit. The unit structure on the left-side bar and dashboard with tabs open. 

Recent units in the Global Search:

The application saves the last 10 search results and displays them in quick access.

• If you have used the search before and navigate to a unit from it, this unit will be displayed in the recent search.

• If you navigate to a unit, this unit will be displayed in the recently visited.

Favorite units in the Global Search:

The application displays a list of units that have been added as a favorite unit.  

Assigned unit in the Global Search:

The application displays a list of units, where the user was assigned to the managerial role.

Additional buttons

By hovering the row of the unit, the user can use additional buttons: Open, Open in new tab, Copy Link, Add Favorite, Set unit as a default. 

You can use Hotkeys to speed up work in the application:

• Up and down arrow keys - navigate and select rows within a list of units.

• Left and right arrow keys - move between search tabs.

• Enter key - open the currently selected unit.

• Ctrl+Alt+H - quickly access the command search feature.

• Esc - close search popover.

Use Sidebar Unit Structure

The unit structure allows you to search for the required units in the hierarchy.

To show or hide the sidebar unit structure:

• On the top of structure panel, hover over the hierarchy icon. And then the system toggles sidebar unit structure.

• The structure of the sidebar block will close if you remove the cursor from the structure of the sidebar block.

To fixed or unfixed the sidebar unit structure:

• On the top of hierarchy structure, click on the arrow icon. The system fixed sidebar unit structure on current page.

• The fixed hierarchy structure will always be open even if go to other sections.

• In order to unfixed the hierarchy structure, click on the reverse arrow. The system unfixed sidebar unit structure.

Use Breadcrumbs

To immediately jump to any parent page in the hierarchy, you can use breadcrumbs that TelescopeAI provides on the top of each hierarchical window.

Breadcrumbs always include link to home page and the current page. All other units in hierarchy are visible in depends of space in top bar. To display all unseen units in hierarchy click on three dots “…”, pop-up window will be displayed.

To browse using breadcrumbs:

• Hide side-bar unit structure clicking on “units tree” icon.

• Click on three dots “…” to see all unseen units in hierarchy

• Click any parent destination in the breadcrumbs line or pop-up window. The system opens the respective window.

Use Unit Summary

• To view brief information about the unit, click on the unit name. The popover will contain the attributes of the unit. 

• 'Unit Summary’ aims to provide a quick overview of unit's attributes.

• Open it as a popover from unit breadcrumbs on page header or pin to the sidebar to keep it open while work on the page or switch between units.

• Some fields such as unit structure are shown for all units, other are specific to unit type.

Use Default Unit

For quick access to unit page user can set up the unit page as the home page.

To selected and removed the unit as default:

• Open drop down menu from unit title and click on "Set unit as default" menu item with home icon.

• After selecting an item, the page is displayed by default, and an icon (blue house) is displayed next to the unit title.

• The page of the selected unit is now used by default. When the page is reopened, selected unit's page immediately displayed.

• Also the selected unit displayed in “Favorites” list menu in section "Default unit".

• In order to unfixed unit's page, click on the blue house icon. And then the system will remove the unit as the default page.

• Remove unit as default by clicking on the blue house icon possible at the top of structure panel, in the “Favorites” list menu.

Also user can remove unit as default in drop down menu items from unit title:

• Opened unit's page that is default.

• Opened drop down menu from units title and clicks on "Remove unit as default" menu item with blue home icon.

• The selected unit was removed by default, and the blue house icon disappeared.

Use Portfolio Search

Telescope AI allow User to search the required units through the selected Portfolio.

To browse using Portfolio Search:

• Open Structure panel.

• Choose Portfolio in Selected Portfolio dropdown menu in which you want to find a unit.

• Click row on top where display text 'Type to find unit'.

• Search field is displayed. Type in a few symbols of the required unit. The system prompts all matching variants.

Use Favorites

For quick access to frequently used pages user can add pages to favorite list.

Clicking the “My Portfolio” in left menu will open pop over sidebar that contains:

• Default unit - links to default one page.

• Favorite units- links to saved pages.

• Assigned units - links to units where user assigned on unit with managerial role.

To add page to your Favorite list you should click on "star" icon near page title. On hover on the star pop-up hint will be appeared.

After user clicks on the start, page is added to the Favorite list, star in the title gets blue, notification is displayed and user can find this page in section "Favorite" in the “Following” list.

There are two ways to remove page from the Favorite list:

• Click on blue star in unit name.

• Click on blue star in the Favorite list.

After that star in the title will get white and page is removed from the Favorite list.
