Purpose

Completed Work Items with Remaining Estimate > 0 shows the amount of items which are already closed but still have some remaining time in a tracking system.This indicator is counted for the whole project duration.

How metric helps

Completed Work Items with Remaining Estimate > 0 helps to identify items with incorrect estimation and take it into account in future estimations. Also it is pay attention that burn down chart is incorrect,.

It is expected that on the project this health indicator value is equal to zero.

How metric works

Chart overview 

Chart shows the amount of items in end status which have Remaning estimate > 0.

By click on a column a pop up appears with the following information:

• Issue ID
• Type
• Priority
• Summary

Calculation

Completed work items with Remaining time > 0 is measured as a number of items in "Closed" status but with Remaining estimate > 0

Calculation is based on issues created within last 90 days.

RAG thresholds: Red - metric value > 100 hrs (not applied); Amber - 0 < metric value  < 100; Green - metric value =0. 

Data Source

Data for the metric can be collected from a task tracking system (Jira, TFS, Rally, etc.).
